Handcrafted in Ireland, each of our elegant Traditional Blackthorn Walking Sticks is one of a kind! Creating these sturdy, approximately 3-foot canes is not easy—the artisans must train the plant to grow a certain way and the wood has very long, sharp thorns—but the end result is a unique work of art. There's a rich history here, too, as these walking sticks were originally made as a way for the Irish to get around the ban on shillelaghs (the national weapon of rural Ireland, outlawed by the English when British forces found themselves on the bludgeon-ing end of them). What a dashing accoutrement for a walk in the woods or a stroll through town!
