A street kid in Chandigarh, India, Ram makes decent money challenging rich school kids to games of gilli. But when his pouch, full of his most recent winnings and his lucky gilli stick, drops behind a factory gate and is picked up by one of the workers, Ram follows the man in the hopes of getting back his belongings. Once at the man's destination, however, Ram is stunned to see piles and piles of junk—and dozens of statues. When the man starts talking to one of the statues, telling it the story of Rama and Lakshmana, Ram is enraptured, and the two begin an unlikely friendship that changes both their lives.
