Sara, a true bibliophile, takes a leap of faith and travels from her home in Sweden to Broken Wheel, Iowa, to meet her pen pal and fellow book lover, Amy Harris. But, there's a big problem - Amy died the day before Sara's arrival. Talk about bad timing! To be sure, there is some awkwardness during those first few days. But the citizens of Broken Wheel, in all of their quirkiness, welcome Sara into their dilapidated little town. What follows is a testament to the human spirit. When Sara decides to open a bookstore in this dying community of non-readers, there is a sort of renaissance among the residents. It seems to be just the "fix" that Broken Wheel needed. Now, the only problem is how to prevent the town's newest resident from having to return to her homeland. The solution will have you rooting for books, lovers, and happy endings!
