In 2009, a Wisconsin man built a wooden model of a schoolhouse, filled it with books, and fastened it to a post in his front yard. His goal: to honor the memory of his librarian mother by sharing free books with his neighbors. Today, more than 50,000 Little Free Libraries can be found around the world. The simple premise—"Take a book, leave a book"—invites readers of all ages to share the love of books. Now you can erect your very own tiny library…without a trip to the lumberyard! Our 19"x23"x16" Little Free Library, constructed of plywood and recycled barn wood, arrives fully assembled, along with an official Little Free Library charter sign and Steward's Kit with helpful information for "managing" your library.
