As a kid, I devoured Beverly Cleary's Ramona series, chuckling (and sometimes cringing) my way through the adventures of the Quimby parents, Beezus, and, of course, the irrepressible Ramona. (I wish I could insert a sound clip of the boisterous laughing fits they've had as we've read about Ramona's mischievous antics.)
