This great, big, beautiful book—not just coffee-table worthy but, at 17"x13", almost coffee-table sized—started out as a very personal gift from an artist to his children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren who live in Israel. Sam Fink—artist, calligrapher, New Yorker, and nonagenarian— painted forty watercolors inspired by the chapters in Exodus. He then hand-lettered them with the Old Testament text, both in Hebrew and in English. Each painting is dramatically beautiful in its own right. The addition of the meticulous calligraphy adds a jaw-dropping effect. The Book of Exodus is an amazing work from a Renaissance man.
